Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego La Jolla

My daughter always stays at this hotel whenever she visits her son, who studies at UCSD. Sue can't stop telling me how wonderful the front desk staff are, Ms. Doreen and Brad, The Manager. They always get the room that overlooks UTC Westfield, and the view is peaceful late in the evening and early in the morning before the mall opens. The breakfast crew is cheerful, and the breakfast is delicious. Sue has reviewed this hotel before, thus she asked me to review on her behalf so Ms Doreen, Brad, and the breakfast crew will get the five stars they deserve.

Staff is so friendly and helpful! Thank you especially to Sabrina for her hospitality! Love the location - close to UCSD and across the street from UTC. The rooms are a bit dated but very spacious and clean. Overall a great stay and will definitely stay here again.

Nice stay for two nights on a business trip. The hotel is in a great location, close to some fine restaurants and shopping. The PF Chang's on the property is something I was thankful for. The suites are spacious and well appointed. The hot breakfast is awesome and the staff work incredibly hard to serve and clean up at breakfast. Their efforts and efficiency are greatly appreciated. Thank you! The hotel also happens to be located right next to a busy intersection. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because the noise of traffic can be a nuisance at night. A shout out to Januzska (hope I got her name right), a member of the staff. who goes above and beyond to engage with guests and receive their feedback on the stay. Thanks also to Kaitlyn at the front desk who offered me a warm welcome upon arriving.

Hotel is in a good area across from an outdoor mall and close to MCAS Miramar. The rooms are big and clean. If you're an honors member they give you food and drinks on check in, but never refill during your stay. Every evening they have free drinks and snacks downstairs, gets busy at this time and most days the bartenders get over whelmed trying to explain how the system works, its been this way for awhile, it looks like they would simplify to make it easier on guests and employees. The food at Indulge is in need of a total revamp or maybe a new chef. The recommended dishes are the tacos or burger. Both of which lack flavor. You would think the hotel would try to retain people from going across the street to eat or right outside the door to PF Changs, which is just so so food as well. I will be looking for a new place to stay the next time im in the area.

Best hotel stay ever - they have true angels working there and gave me the sweetest service. Both my front desk person Kayla and bartender Sarah were simply unsung heroes and made me feel VIP and truly special. They won me over from the Marriott for life and it’s all thanks to their attention to detail, one out of a million customer service and just simply being great people. I truly hope they both get a hefty raise for all the value they give this business. Thank you both for the best stay by simply being the best!

Wanted to stay at a hotel that was close to work and the UTC mall. This was a great choice! I liked the water feature with Koi fish on the main floor, and the atrium style open air atmosphere is really unique! Staff was great and friendly, free breakfast, and they also do a “social hour”!

Since I travel to the San Diego area frequently for work, I like to try different hotels each time. This was my first stay at this property, and the service truly stood out. The experience was absolutely five-star, especially thanks to Blaine at the front desk. He was extremely professional, welcoming, and made check-in effortless while clearly explaining the hotel amenities. He’s honestly a huge asset to the hotel. That said, I was a bit disappointed once I got to the room. While it was very spacious, as you’d expect from Embassy Suites, there was a noticeable odor coming from the AC that was hard to ignore. The room itself also felt dated compared to other Embassy Suites locations I’ve stayed at and could definitely benefit from some updates. On a positive note, breakfast was solid, with an omelet bar and a good selection of food and refreshments. Once again, the staff really made the difference during my stay. Overall, I’d give this hotel a 4 out of 5. The exceptional staff and unbeatable location, less than a five-minute walk to UTC in La Jolla, make it a good option despite a few room-related drawbacks.

Great location next to the Westfield UTC La Jolla and very convenient to get to different campus that are a short-walking distance. The rooms are pretty big, clean although a bit dated. The feeling from the lobby is great and the facilities like the pool and gym are open 24/7, definitely helping with the jet lag. The breakfast is quite good, in particular the items you order from the counter. The best bit is definitely the lobby bar, with its happy hour, complimentary drinks and great vibe every day. All the employees are great, efficient and very kind. One the best value options in the area
